Dementia is a disease that causes an individual to loose their mental capabilities. Alzheimer’s is one of the most common causes of dementia, but there are a number of other factors that can cause dementia.
Contrary to common belief, dementia is not a normal part of the aging process and growing old.
Dementia can have a very big impact on not only the individual who has dementia, but also on their caretakers, which can make caring for a loved one with dementia very difficult. Throughout it all, it is imperative to remember that dementia does not reduce a seniors ability to love or to feel love.
