History: From Recliners to Lift Chairs

Not being able to stand up without help is something that can very negativity affect a persons ability to use their own home. It often means that it is necessarily to consciously decide when it is safe to sit down, based off of whether there will be someone available to help them stand up. This can be impractical and it is also unnecessary if you own a lift chair.
Lift chairs are devices that have been used in the United States since the beginning of the eighties and are today more popular than they have ever been before. These chairs allow for a person to be able to independently stand whenever they want, without having to rely on someone else.
